We learnt how to make our own ebook and work together with our cooperative group. Our group had to make a ebook and about our scratch video. 

It was hard to insert the video in because i was not getting much internet since there was a lot of people on their chromebooks all at once

I found it easier to write the info of what my video was explaining

Next time i could make my words abit bigger so you could read them easier  

Athletics day reflection

Athletics reflection 

 On October 29th (aka athletics day) at Awapuni school athletics day. Let me run you through what happend. The events. So for Awapuni school we do high jump,long jump,ball throw and sprints (all i'm bad at so not my favorite time of the year) long jump jumping as far as you can, high jump jumping as high as you can,ball throw throwing the ball as far as you possibly can, and sprints just running. I wasn't focusing much so i didn't get the run down but i knew what I was doing. Moments after we were heading to long jump welp guess its over indeed i was bad at long jump so i just jumped but i remembered when we were practicing long jump the first run i hurt my ankle badly i didn't want to repeat the same thing that happened so i did a little long jump ANYWAYS NEXT. High jump I CAN BARELY JUMP OVER A CHAIR wait I CANT EVEN JUMP OVER A CHAIR lets get this over with jumping in a circle ploop ha HA i knew it second run wasn't as better as before actually it was the same jump as before NEXT.  Ball throw meh my sister and I sometime just go outside and randomly throw a tennis ball at each other  (we'd just end up throwing it over a fence) my throw i tried to throw it far but it just flew straight down we had to throw the farthest once we've thrown the teacher had to decide if you can go onto the next round anyways  NEXT. Sprints we literally just had to run that's it run AND I'M HORRIBLE AT THAT TO. 

Matariki star 2019

Yesterday and the day before yesterday. We drew Matariki stars. i drew a pohutukawa star. it means the loved ones who has passed away. and someone passed away in my family recently. which is really sad. we have been learning Matariki. My teacher has been making us draw all the Matariki stars. Hiwaiterangi,waita,waiti,pohutukawa,ururangi.waipuna-a-rangi, and loads more.

We have learnt how to read food labels, We have been learning what carbs are and fiber 

and many more things. We all have learnt with our food for though teacher.  Next week well be going to PAC n save We have learnt what fat is let me tell you. some people think fats are bad but not really.  i have confirmed that fat takes up most of your brain it crazy! All my life has been a lie!!

Buddy book 2019

This is my picture me and leilah did back in 2019 it was about mister house the principal of awapuni school we created a book about him everyone had to create there own drawing of what he ate so here's the picture of what me and leilah did

Moment in time (hawk)

 We were told to watch a video clip about a hawk trying to attack a squirrel after we've watched the clip we had to make a doc and become on of the animals either the hawk or the squirrel what i mean by become the animal is describe the point of view or like what they do and describe it. So i picked the hungry hawk the wanted to eat the poor little squirrel.

I found it relatively easy to fill out the planning slide for the actual moment in time doc and slide because hawks seem interesting. Also it was easy to figure out what the font,color and size because the background that I picked was a dark forest which i think sutes it anyways it makes the words easier to read at least i think it does.

I found it hard to figure out some interesting and describing words because i kinda forgot to watch the video once more so i just went off what my memory remembered. I completely forgot what to do or what to describe any more. My mind was controlling my mind odd. 

Next time i could make it more faster because i took a couple of weeks doing this well i just forgot to do it because i wasn't on track of work because i was bunking a couple of school days well more like 2 or 3 days of school.

Twelve days of christmas (in our own words)

 Today in room 2 we had to get into a little group and create our own 12 days of christmas song just in our own words me,Kiaana,Mia,Alex,Nikau, and Houston had to work as a team to finish this. 

I found it relatively easy to find the right font and color for the words so you can see them and also the background finding the background was kinda easy they came out a bit blurry

I found i pretty hard to figure out the words what word we should replace the slides i had to do was 11 and 12 i've never been to auckland but i heard that you can bungee jump off of the sky tower so i put in bungee jumps of horror because that's how i image it

Next time i could find a non blurry background and also try make the words rym a bit

Xmas getting creative

 For this blog post I created a christmas slide about what christmas means to me so i did different varieties of things what we do for christmas and what it means to me because the gisborne herald wanted us to make a letter on what christmas means to you and the winner gets a prize i forgot what.

I enjoyed creating the different things of what christmas means to me because i got to remember the things that we did for the pasts christmas's.

I found it hard to find the characters for the slides because i had to be really specific.

Next time i want to make an animation or add more slides because we do more than what i put in the slides

Acrostic poem

 Acrostic poem that's what we learnt today I already knew how to make and create the acrostic poem so it was pretty much a piece of cake but it did get a bit hard anyways the first word of the sentences make FIREWORKS

It was easy to make this poem only because we did the same thing last year with ms forster and for the letter  O because the word over starts with o and the fireworks go over you so your getting the idea so i put two and two together and boom.

It was hard to find some descriptive word for the firework acrostic poem because i don't think i've used the word gloomy in my writhing before well i don't think at least

Next time i could maybe create two poem instead of just making one i was gonna make 2 but then i ran out of time so i could make or create one at home.  

Taken quotes Eleanor roosevelt

Team toroa learnt how to create quotes well we learnt how to tell if an image is fake but for this post i took a quote from eleanor roosevelt and turned it into my own style same with everyone else evaluating media thats what its called. 

I found it relatively easy to find the quotes since there were two links that you could choose from and in those sites there was many many quotes from famous people or maybe just people that said inspiring quotes and got online. 

I found it hard to find the picture of eleanor roosevelt because I didn't know if that's what she actually looked like and I had two choices either a young eleanor roosevelt or a old eleanor roosevelt. 

Next time i could attempt to find a better photo because the hair was a bit cut off so it looked a bit funky so that's something i could change.

Ahau shapes

Instead of doing colors we did shapes i did do some of the shapes in my colors slide it was pretty easy to complete it was very easy to complete this slide of shapes# it was hard to think of something to do for this part of the stems Next time i could maybe make it longer and add more shapes

 

Nga tae colors

We learnt the colors in maori whero,karaka,kowhai,kakariki,kahurangi also kikorangi,waiporoporo,mawhero,kiwikiwi,parauri,pangi also mango those are all of the colors that we learnt during te reo time.

 I enjoyed creating the different colors and sometimes the different shapes I

 found it hard to make the slides in a couple of te reo times Next time i could attempt to try make the side a bit shorter

P.2 Scam postcard

We all learnt how to avoid scamming on the internet because there are different types of people that would attempt to scam you. As for instances in your email. There would be people that make ads that would say FREE PHONE. First of all there's no way that there's people that would just give away free phones unless you signed up for a contest and you won. 

I enjoyed putting the idea together because I like to play minecraft the original idea was to put myself into a show or a movie but them video games just popped u in my head so I put two and two together and I have myself and Kiwikiwi in a minecraft world trying to chop down a tree.

It was challenging to make the little stamp and put little me and Kiwikiwi in the little box because I couldn't see anything because my mouse was in the way of my view.

It was easy to find the items that i needed in my photo because i typed in minecraft related items. Also with the name of my horse Kiwikiwi on the whiteboard at my school all the maori colors were on the board so I picked one. 

Next time ill try to include more items or i could of done myself in a movie or a different video game maybe call of duty or something like that.

 

Scam postcard

We all were learing now to not fall for scam such as make sure that if someone sends you a email saying your bank account has been compramized and send us your password so we could fix it than don't fall for it what you should do is search up the bank that you use and call them and ask if it was actully them that send that email. The scammers will try everything to try get your bank password or your password they'd make a fake site so instead of google they'd do g00gle or g0gle. Also make sure there is a padlock on the site that your using. i found it easy to think of an idea to use like in the desert because yesterday it was steemy hot and today it freey cold just like in the desert at night its frezzy cold but in the moring it steemy hot. I found it hard to remember the instructions because i don't remember things easyily and we have not done maniacalani in a we while so i needed to focus. Next time i try think of something else than a desert because its so basic and i could take the photo somewhere lighter like outside instead of taking the photo inside.

 

Ranginui and Papatuanuku story explained (kowai version)

We learnt how to recreate our own type of story of ranginui and papatuanuku. Ranginui and papatuanuku is a maori myth there's the sky father ranginui and earth mother papatuanuku. I found it easy to think of what i should do in the team because we all just talked about it so the first slide is made from Kriste-lee the second slide is made from William the third slide is made from Addison and the last slide is made from me. I found it hard to fit everything in one slide because i had to fit a lot of stuff in the slide and on top of that i had to put in the words which took up most of the space. Next time i could try make my own trees and greenery and add more flowers or birds.

 

Persuasive Writing

We learnt how to do persuasive writing. Persuasive writing is when you are trying to get someone on your side like when you want someone's vote when your trying to be president or like on adds when the person who made that add tries to persuade you to buy their product on like tv or on your tablet just any device. So we all have tried to be persuaded or tried to persuade someone. 

It was really easy to find something to work on since people are cutting down trees,polluting the ocean,killing animals there is just so many wrong things happening in the world. But i picked the most simple one pollution! It was easy because first of all you could of searched something up or just go outside and find rubbish on you doorstep or on the side of the road.  

It was really hard to find evidence because i could not get the correct number in New Zealand like how many animals have died from pollution in the ocean it would justgive me the same answer as it would be when i typed how many animal have died from pollution in the whole world it would give me the 100,000 marine mammals.  

Next time instead of pollution in the ocean maybe multiple like people cutting down trees or maybe just the pollution on in the cities like comparing two different cities how much pollution is in france than canada. It would give two different numbers. Or how many cities have cut down trees America or Australia.

How to make your sprite talk on scratch

Today we learnt how to make a basic tutorial on scratch. I made a video on how to make your sprite talk in diffrent voices like a kitten give it a try. I found it easy to find something to do a tutorial on because it was simple task to do. I found it hard to understand the tutorial that i used because i was new to scratch and didn't know how to do anything on the game. Next time ill try to make the video a bit longer and make sence in the video.

 

THE GREAT AWAPUNI FUN RUN!!!

I found it really hard to find rich words to use in my story and remember what happend. I found it easy to discribe what the obsicals were because there were thing that made me remember it. Next time ill try rich words to use in my story

Favourite times of the day!

I found it hard to think of a favourite time of my day because i barley have any I found it easy to think of what something looks like. Next time i will try find more interesting words to put in my work

Today we learnt how to comment on peoples blogs and use different words in your comment. I found it easy to think of an idea for my slide. I found it hard to think of thing that we've learnt today. Next time i will think of more things that we've learnt.

Today we learnt about matariki in writing. I found it easy to think of a story of matariki because last year we had to do drawings of a matariki story. I found it hard to insert my background because i had to keep on copying it and putting it into another slide and it took forever.

I found it hard to discuss our animal because some one wanted to do a llama and the other two wanted to do a hedgehog. Next time we should not add to many rocks on the hedgehogs back

Profile

Hi my name is Alexis i’m a year 6 in Awapuni School. I am Moari and i have four sisters. Tretana,Shaz,Jodeci,and Aaliyah. I can speak some Moari but all of my family can do it better than me.

This year I've learnt how to snorkel and use flippers for the marine reserve last term. I feel like I'm getting better at drawing people or animated characters. So far I'm enjoying all the different things that we are learning. I’m challenging myself to become an amazing drawer like my older sister.


This year I'm looking forward to camp and kapa haka, and the electives. I feel like I've achieved my goal of becoming a better speller, which i was supposed to do last year but i couldn't. My dad has inspired me because he is super nice and he can build anything so i wanted to try that when i’m older like 15 or 17.

About me

We were learning about what should be private and public. I found it easy to do the eyebrow on the face. I found it challenging to do the hair because the poly line kept stopping. Next time i will put more detail in my jacket.
